Introduction

Multiple myeloma is a plasma cell neoplasm1

MM is a neoplastic plasma cell disorder characterized by:

  • Clonal proliferation of malignant plasma cells in the bone marrow microenvironment secreting monoclonal protein (M-protein) in the blood or urine and causing organ dysfunction including hypercalcemia, renal dysfunction, anemia, and lytic bone lesions1-4
