Can I Receive Vaccines Before or While Taking STELARA?

Before you use or receive STELARA, tell your healthcare provider about all of your medical conditions, including if you:

  • Have recently received or are scheduled to receive an immunization (vaccine).1
    • People who are being treated with STELARA should avoid receiving live vaccines.
    • Tell your healthcare provider if anyone in your house needs a live vaccine.
    • The viruses used in some types of live vaccines can spread to people with a weakened immune system and can cause serious problems.
    • You should avoid receiving the Bacillus Calmette-Guérin (BCG) vaccine during the 1 year before receiving STELARA or 1 year after you stop receiving STELARA.

What should I avoid while using STELARA?

  • You should avoid receiving a live vaccine during treatment with STELARA.1
